Mimi the Sardine Lunch Bug Review

We have been spending alot more time outdoors now that the weather is finally nice. My 3 yr old always asks if we can have a picnic lunch and I always find myself cringing at the mess it makes. Let me explain…ever since he saw the school-aged kids carry lunch bags he wants one…except he rips the paper bags and many other bags are simply to flimsy or don’t clean well.
I have been searching for just the right lunch bag and I think I finally found it in Mimi the Sardine’s Lunch Bugs (did you catch lunch bUgs not bags…cute huh). First let me tell you a little about Mimi the Sardine:

Mimi the Sardine is a small family-owned company located just north of San Francisco. We have been in business since 1988.We strive to serve our customers well by putting earth-friendly, well-made and meaningful products on the market.
Our world-class Swedish designs emphasize fun, while the quality, durability, and easy care of our fabric make you and our planet happy! Our cotton has a water-based acrylic coating (not PVC). It is permanently water, soil, and mess resistant yet remains soft and supple. Simply wipe clean or machine wash warm. Hang dry or tumble dry low.

Right away my ears perked up when I read mess resistant. My kind of bag! Lunch bugs are friendly, fun, and practical, easy to clean: just wipe, or machine-wash and tumble dry on low! Equipped with a sturdy zipper and soft handles, children and adults alike fall in love with the fun and colorful patterns, and everyone appreciates its eco-friendly and safe fabric.

I was able to pick the pattern of my lunch bug so I gave the choice to the 3 yr old. Of course he went for the propeller one…which is full of airplanes and “look mommy helicopters”. We had to have a picnic supper the very same day we received out lunch bug since his eyes lit up and how do you tell an excited 3 yr old no.

You know what…it was mess resistant. Several drops of jelly got inside the fabric and wiped right off. I just just got done washing antd taking it out of the dryer and it is good as new. We have definitely found our go to lunch bag!

Lunch bugs are priced at $23.95 and come in a variety of patterns I am sure you will love! Mimi the Sardine also specializes in bib, splashmats for under chairs, and adorable aprons. Be sure to check out Mimi the Sardine!
