- Thanks to Facebooks new guide lines we will no longer have an extra entry for adding/following us or the company sponsoring the giveaway. You can read up on it here: http://www.facebook.com/promotions_guidelines.php We are working on changing and updating ALL of our posts but please be aware, if a contest says you can gain an extra entry to a contest by adding us or the company to Facebook it is no longer valid. Please be patient with us as we fix all of our posts on the Gift Guide & On Barefoot Mommies blog. Thanks for your understanding, Barefoot Mommies Team
- I learned about it form a mom blogger. She also shared this link to Mom Central http://bloggeruniversity.momcentral.com/2009/11/blogger-beware-facebooks-new-guidelines-for-running-promotions-on-your-fan-page-and-blog.html
Hope this helps.

wow, I had no clue about this!
how did you find out about this? have you had any complaints??
Does this also mean that I cannot auto post giveaways or sweepstakes on Facebook if they are posted through NetworkedBlogs, Twitter, Simply RSS, and my Facebook blog Fan Page?
This is news to me. So many giveaways have this as an option. Did they write to you about it?
These rules happened on Nov. 4th, 2009. I learned about it today from My Wee Views, she has the rules on her site posted. No you can’t do anything on Facebook that involves posting or commenting on contests or sweepstakes, and they include giveaways as sweepstakes because a gift or a prize is involved.
So If you have a facebook page you need to post that others do not post these items to your page. I need to go and do that. I blew it a few times myself because I only knew about the new rules as of today.
