Moms Into Fitness Review and Giveaway: 11/24
Lets talk about an extraordinary mom. Lindsay Brin is the fitness expert for Fit Pregnancy and Mom & Baby magazines, an author, and creator of her own fitness DVD line designed specifically for moms! Oh and most importantly she is currently a mom AND is expecting again in February. Lindsay majored in Exercise Science and decided on exercise programs specifically for moms because “I really just want moms to feel good about themselves, which is why I lead pregnancy research studies on postpartum depression and working the inner core so moms can find that flat tummy again!”
Moms Into Fitness recently released 4 new titles, including the favorites Shed 5 Fast and The CFS Method. In addition to these there are 13 other DVD titles-including toning and prenatal yoga for each trimester!
While I received the entire pregnancy package ~ with specific DVDS for each trimester and the Boot Camp for after giving birth, I have only tried 3rd Trimester (because, yep you guessed it! I am in my third trimester!). I could jump right into both the Cardio and Yoga workouts without feeling left in the dust and still feeling like I had a great workout. Lindsay describes each of the moves in detail and really gives pointers to help you do the excercises and poses correctly. What is the point of working out if you aren’t getting the full benefit! She really fine tunes the program to meet the needs of a pregnant woman and targets sway back, lower back pain, and shortening muscles. She also offers lots of modifiers to help those that have specific medical needs like carpel tunnel or diastasis recti. Other things that I love about her program is that they last under 40 minutes so you can easily complete a workout without taking up a huge amount of time. Lindsay is SOOO cheerful that I don’t mind working out at all. I normally have to wait until my daughter goes to bed before I am able to workout and most likely I need to do things like clean up dinner, switch or fold laundry, before hand as well. By the time I am done with all of my “motherly duties” I often don’t feel like working out ~ hello I am in the third trimester!!!! But knowing that I will be greeted by a smiling, cheerful Lindsay gets me motivated. Within a few minutes of starting the DVD, I forget all about my desire to be lazy and am happily working out.
So many benefits exist when working out during pregnancy. You have more energy, you body is better conditioned for child birth, your baby gets more oxygen, AND your mood greatly improves! I told Lindsay I would get this review out sooner, but I wanted to work out with it for a few weeks beforehand. I still love it!!! I do wish that it included more workouts (so I could rotate between a few) and that the yoga section ended in meditation (my FAVORITE part of yoga!), but overall I am VERY happy with Lindsay’s DVDs! I strongly recommend them to anyone who is pregnant or as a great shower gift! I am sure that the non-pregnancy DVDs are just as much fun and just as much help ~ I can’t wait to try them out!)

I LOVE that I can bend into a million different yoga poses and not have to worry that my stomach is going to stick out the bottom. I also love that it doesn’t smoosh the ever growing bust line!
