Even though it has been a hot summer, I still have enjoyed having a cup of coffee here and there. I am not a huge drinker of coffee and probably will not be until I am at least done nursing/being pregnant. It is such a joyous moment in my life, however, when I do have time to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee (iced or not). All of the delicious cafe drinks are great, but not so nice on the budget or the waist line. So I was excited when International Delights sent over two delicious “skinny” coffee creamers to try:
Skinny Vanilla Latte: Experience this coffeehouse classic with a decadent infusion of sweet vanilla flavor, without the fat and 30 calories per 1 Tbsp. serving
· Skinny Caramel Macchiato: Sip and savor the bold coffeehouse caramel flavor with notes of sweet cream, without the fat and 30 calories per serving 1 Tbsp. serving
They both were good, but my husband and I preferred the Vanilla Latte over the Caramel Macchiato. I didn’t find them as creamy as our normal International Delight creamers, but the flavor was great and therefore a win in our book! Ohh, and I loved the way they felt in my hands ~ very European or something. I would certainly recommend anyone looking for a flavorful coffee without the fat to check out International Delight Coffee House Inspirations Skinny creamers. Especially those of you that need to get up early to get your kiddos off to school!!

Mastermind Review and Giveaway

Many of you may have grown up playing Mastermind, the great code breaking game. I for some reason, do not recall ever playing it. My sister, however, assured me that it rocked and it did. We played it as soon as I got it in the mail. She happened to be here ~ yeah!! The basic idea behind the game is that one player sets up a secret code (a sequence of colored pegs) and another tries to break it. My husband and I had a great time playing this game as well (and it was awesome to use my brain for something other than singing the ABC’s and the Itsy Bitsy Spider.Mastermind Attache, the travel version, comes attached to a small flat case (hence attache) with compartments to store all of the pegs.
I love the idea of making such a wonderful game compact and easy to take along. Unfortunately, I think that the execution wasn’t great. The pegs are small, very, very small. My husband had a lot of trouble picking them up. They could have made the whole game a bit bigger because there is A LOT of wasted space in the case (or made the case smaller). The peg holding compartments don’t stay shut so when you carry the case around all of the pegs go flying around the case, making it time consuming to pick up the tiny pegs. Also, I think that the compartments should be at the ends of the board game, just to make life easier. However,
I still LOVE this game. It is really a blast and is a great price (around $13 on Amazon right now.) I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, two person game that wants a little metal exercise as well.
WIN!! Two of our lucky readers will win Mastermind Attache!!
To enter: Tell me your favorite board/card game and why!

GROOBS

If you’re looking for some soft and comfortable shoes and want to buy from a place where giving isn’t an option for them then you MUST try out GROOBS.
Jason Fry is the Founder of GROOBS Shoes. Jason is an entrepreneur at his core. His first successful venture was a lawn business when he was 12 years old. The company slogan was “Why Ask Why Try Jason Fry, The Lawn Ranger.” Since childhood through today, he has started various other businesses ranging from a fresh fruit and vegetable delivery service – to a successful commercial real estate capital company that is in operation today.
With GROOBS Shoes, Jason has decided to dedicate his energy and passion for creativity and more importantly people and concentrate on building GROOBS into a socially conscious company that gives back to the many people in need in our communities and abroad with the BOGO FIVE O business model.I don’t know about you all, but to me knowing that a company actually has a HEART means a lot to me. I like knowing that HALF of what I spend goes to help someone in need and what is great is knowing it is going to a charity of MY choice. GROOBS gives YOU the choice to pick the charity and to me that is just awesome.
Giving Relief Out Of Buying Shoes
GROOBS was founded for one reason. “Compassion.”
With every pair of GROOBS you purchase, you
and GROOBS become partners.
Partners in Compassion.
For every pair of GROOBS you buy,
we will give a new pair of GROOBS to someone in
need with the help of the shoe charity www.soles4souls.org
………..and we’re just getting started. In addition to sending a new
pair of shoes to a needy individual, you will also get to pick a charity of
YOUR CHOICE to send 50% of the proceeds to your chosen charity.
For short and to change the meaning of BOGO, we call it “BOGO FIVE O” –
Buy One Give One AND 50% of the proceeds will be sent to a
charity of YOUR choosing!
You pick the charity that you are passionate about.People may ask
“Why don’t I skip the shoes and donate directly to a charity?”
We say “Do it.” Make a difference in someone’s life.
Volunteer, give money but why not get your
GROOB ON and make an impact in a person’s life?
Others might say
“I’m just an average Joe,Tom or Jane, how does simply
purchasing pair of GROOBS make such a huge difference?”
As we mentioned above, buying a pair of GROOBS is also
giving a new pair of shoes to someone who is homeless
in your city and may not own a pair of shoes or a child that has
never worn a pair of shoes in their life and has an enormous
chance of contracting intestinal worms by not
wearing a simple pair of shoes.
Also, you may be driven to do something about hunger in Houston, Texas.
When you checkout you could choose the
Houston Food Bank and feed at least five people
for a day (YES A DAY) simply by
purchasing a pair of GROOBS.
Maybe Project Mosquito Net is YOUR charity and
you give to them all year round and you are
well aware that Malaria kills a child every 30 seconds
and an insecticide treated mosquito bed net would stop this.
Well when you buy a pair of GROOBS you automatically are giving
again through a purchase you were going to make anyway and your
purchase is giving another mosquito bed net to a child…………….
Go ahead, click the SHOP GROOBS link and give back with GROOBS.
Together we can make a difference and you get to choose where those
differences are going to be made.HOW THE GROOBS NATION WAS BORN
I, Jason Fry, and my wife were in church – December 2009.
I was sitting and thinking to myself “Wow!!!
I can hear the thunder but I just hope I don’t see the lighting”………
Just kidding……………not really. Anyhoo………..
December is the month when the church has their annual
giving drive to help those in need on a local, national and
international level. Seeing a picture of an impoverished
child behind the speaker hit me hard. I told my wife after
the service (because she gets mad at me when I try and talk to her
in the service), there is so much need in this world it’s overwhelming.
The thought is paralyzing. Need is around every corner and in every country.
I told her I have to do something. I said “Why don’t I create a shoe company
(yes I love shoes) with every pair of shoes we sell, part of the
proceeds are donated to a charity of the consumers choosing
AND we give new shoes to someone who desperately needs a
pair whether they live in Uganda or Houston, Texas.” Need has no boundaries. So what is this 50% of proceeds talk? How much is that really?
In an effort not to waste your time with “Business Man Talk” and
for us to be on the same page…….depending on the style of shoe,
shipping cost etc, 50% of the proceeds equates to $6 – $9
per pair sold being sent to your charity. We will keep you posted
constantly on the amount of money going to the charities per pair sold and overall. Finally, why shoes? Shoes are a necessity for everyone and collectively as
one huge consumer we can make a profound impact in this world we all share.
Whether you are passionate about cancer, autism, hunger, poverty and so forth……………..
we are all “on fire” about something. You choose your passion!!!
With that, GROOBS was born. The process is simple and my elbows are kind of shaking
from typing and I don’t have one of those foam things
that sits in front of your keyboard that you can rest your wrists on while you type.1. Pick out a pair of GROOBS.
2. Pick a charity you are passionate about.
3. Press CONFIRM ORDER……………BOGO FIVE O!!!
GROOBS. GIVING IS ON OUR SOLE!!!
So here are the shoes I was able to review from GROOBS.

Sock Grams
August 22, 2010 by Krissy
Filed under Adults/Parents, Back to School, Barefoot Thoughts, Big Kids, Dad, Featured, Kids, Little Kids, Mom, Review, Reviews, Teens, Toddler
We had an absolute great time at BlogHer. While we were in NY we were able to hand out some Sock Grams to some lucky ladies!
As you can see by the look on their faces they absolutely loved them!I am more than sure you all have heard of Sock Grams before, but if not here’s a bit about them.
Sock Grams was born out of the desire to send a greeting to a loved one, along with a small gift. We often found ourselves wanting to send a greeting card, to celebrate an important milestone our friends and loved ones reached, but we wanted to send a little something more than just a card. We also wanted to ensure the gift would last and, most importantly, be in acknowledgment of something that was important or of interest to the person we were giving it to. Novelty socks, in the myriad of patterns and colors were our answer!!!
We found a world of novelty socks that fit all areas of interest, patterns and colors. We found so many that were fun, fashionable and downright humorous!
With the artistic talent of friends at Brainmusic Design we’ve developed our own greeting cards for you to choose from. We wanted to make sure our customers could personalize these gifts, so we include a component to add personalized greetings and/or salutations.
In our search to make the Sock Gram package special and add a pampering component, we found a Medi-Spa Foot Balm. In each Sock Gram we include a .25 fl oz packet of Foot Balm. This Foot Balm was developed more than 60 years ago, specifically to treat feet. It can help relieve pressure of swollen and tired feet and speed healing of blisters and minor abrasions.
So, what does a Sock Gram include?
Your personally chosen novelty socks – as many pairs as you’d like to send.
One specially chosen greeting card, with a personal message, if you so choose.
One .25 fl oz packet of Foot Balm.
Your specially wrapped gift with tissue paper inside a durable, waterproof, blue metallic envelope.

What I love most about Sock Grams is the ability to give them as presents, for absolutely any occasion. Perfect for all of those sock lovers out there!
They can be simply given to brighten someone’s day.
We gave out some of these, and I love these!

They’re called ‘Cutest Pedicure’ Socks.Some Goldfish Glub Glub Socks;

Baby Genius Review and Giveaway
August 19, 2010 by Amanda
Filed under Adults/Parents, Baby, Big Kids, Dad, Giveaways, Kids, Little Kids, Mom, Review, Reviews, Reviews and Giveaways, Toddler
Being a mom of a two year old our house is filled with tons of different toys, that Logan loves at first then not so much. I always try to find some type of toys that help him learn as he thinks he is just playing! I have found that I love the Baby Genius toy line as every toy they make helps your child learn!
I was lucky enough to review the baby genius Adventure Train Set, and the baby genius board book set. The Adventure Train Set is a wonderful train made for little hands and fingers. One thing that I found so neat about the Adventure Train set was that the pieces are very easy to put together. We have brought many different train sets into our home, but this one honestly was so easy to play with. You can create any shape track you want. Figure eights, circuits, lines; you name it, this track can be configured in that way. Logans favorite way to play is in the figure eight pattern. One thing that I love the most is that it requires Logan to move the train pieces himself. As parents we all know that one way to get motor skills installed in your kids life is to make them push and pull toys themselves.

The Baby Genius Sing-A-Long Board Books are a great way for parents and kids to interact with one other. From the sing a long style to the fun picture these book are great. There are four books in the set each song can be downloaded for free from the baby genius website! The four different songs are
• 1 Little, 2 Little, 3 Little Elephants
• The Wheels on the Bus
• 5 Little Monkeys Jumpin’ on the Bed
• Old MacDonald Had a Farm
Logan personal favoirt is 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed! We sing and read that book everyday! One more nice thing about the board books, are they are great at church and in the car.
Baby Geniusis offering one lucky winner the chance to win there own baby genius Adventure Train Set, and the baby genius board book set.

Sharpie’s “New” Liquid Pencil
August 18, 2010 by Carrie
Filed under Adults/Parents, Back to School, Big Kids, Dad, Featured, Household, Kids, Mom, Review, Reviews, Teens, Twitter PartyOkay here is the way for your kids to have “ULTRA COOL status”.. Of course Sharpie has done it again….. a Liquid #2 lead pencil… it is erasable for up to 24 hours and then becomes permanent. My 12 year old daughter is a Sharpie addict, if you have kids or you are a Sharpie addict too then this is what you need!
Step aside old yellow No. 2. Sharpie® will boldly enter the pencil business by revolutionizing the classic, tried and true writing instrument with cutting-edge liquid graphite technology. My daughter started 7th grade this week and got to take one of these in and use…the kids were AMAZED!!! Trading for cool pens is a “BIG” deal at her school and this was a “HOT” item to be traded.. BUT NO WAY would she do it!
The new Sharpie® Liquid Pencil hits stores nationwide this September. Using the newest liquid graphite formulation, the Sharpie Liquid Pencil writes like a pen but erases like a pencil. Sally Grimes, vice president of marketing for Sharpie says “Sharpening standard pencils takes up valuable classroom time, and mechanical pencil leads seem to constantly break. The Sharpie Liquid Pencil means no more sharpening, and it’s erasable for up to 2, after which it becomes more permanent. It’s unlike any other writing instrument out there.” The Sharpie Liquid Pencil features a line width comparable to a 0.5mm No. 2 pencil.
YES, ULTRA COOL STATUS is what kids will reach when they show up at school with the coolest, newest pencil around!
Liquid graphite technology for a better pencil!
- An exceptional writing experience
- Consistently smooth performance
- Easy erasability; no smudges – and no more broken leads
- Graphite becomes permanent after about 24 hours
- Strong, bold lines with a write length twice as long as other liquid-graphite pencils
- Unique pressurized refill technology
The Sharpie Liquid Pencil joins the Sharpie Pen as the latest innovation from Sharpie –now the largest writing brand in North America.
ABOUT SHARPIE®
For 46 years, Sharpie has been the popular brand of permanent marker associated with the autograph experience. Newell Rubbermaid, maker of Sharpie® markers, is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing and marketing of writing instruments, art products and office organization and technology products, including such well-known brands as Paper Mate®, Sharpie®, DYMO® Parker®, Waterman®, EXPO®, uni-ball®, and Rolodex®, among others. Visit www.sharpie.com for more information.
I am getting to enjoy a Sharpie Liquid Pencil for myself… and after showing it to a lot of my friends.. I have to say that I think I hit the UTRAL COOL status with them too.. lol
I think that after using this new pencil, I can’t go back. These do not seem to smear like normal lead and they write very smooth. You will be able to purchase these Sharpie Liquid Pencil’s in September to reach your ULTRA COOL status too, and at a pretty good price around $1.99 for a single and $3.99 for a double pack.

Tyson – Review + Giveaway
August 18, 2010 by Krissy

I don’t know about your kids, but mine absolutely LOVE chicken nuggets!
They especially love the dinosaur kind because it lets them actually play with their food without getting into trouble.Tyson wants to help parents conquer mealtime battles with picky eaters, Tyson Foods and Robin Miller are teaming up to show how finger foods, like Tyson® 100% All Natural Chicken Nuggets, can not only please picky eaters but also be fundamental in building a foundation of balanced eating habits.
As I am sure you know, most moms have tried almost everything to get their kids to stop saying “no!” to the new or unfamiliar foods on their plates. Once moms find that “nugget” of mealtime wisdom that gets their fussy eaters to try new foods and help build a foundation of balanced nutrition, they often want to pass this valuable information along to other moms.
Recommended by health care professionals as a top pick for picky eaters, Tyson® 100% All Natural Chicken Nuggets are protein-packed, minimally processed and contain no artificial ingredients, preservatives or fillers. They’re crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Parents will love them because they’re wholesome and build a great foundation for balanced eating habits; kids will love them because they’re simply delicious.
FUNdamental Finger Food—In a recent survey, nearly
70 percent of registered dietitians surveyed said they would
recommend a finger food protein source like Tyson® 100%
All Natural Chicken Nuggets because they contain no artificial
ingredients, preservatives or fillers.*
Great Taste—Tyson® 100% All Natural Chicken Nuggets offer a
familiar, delicious taste that kids love and parents can feel good
about serving.
Easy to Prepare—Hot from the oven or microwave,
Tyson® 100% All Natural Chicken Nuggets are ready in
minutes with a re-sealable package to ensure freshness.Tyson® 100% All Natural Chicken Nuggets are available nationwide in grocery stores’ frozen section. To find a grocery store near you, go to the product finder section of Tyson’s Web site, http://www.tyson.com/Recipes/Product/.
Looking for more “nuggets” to help please finicky eaters? Here are a few top solutions submitted by parents:
- “I started a point system chart to get my two children to eat better. They would get points for giving up pop, eating vegetables, and trying new foods (that one was worth 10 points!). At the end of the week, I would give them a penny for every point they earned. It wouldn’t amount to much: sometimes between $2-$3, but it was worth it to get them to eat better.”
- “I have boys so if we have noodles for supper, I tell them we are having boiled worms instead. Green beans are snake bites. Chicken nuggets are bird Frisbees. I add blue food coloring to scrambled eggs to have scrambled alien eggs. My kids are much more excited to have a bowl of boiled worms than to have something boring for supper.”
- “Our children love chicken nuggets, but it’s often hard to get them to eat healthy side dishes. So, we started growing a vegetable garden. Now, they love running outside to see what healthy food is growing. For the first time ever, they are eating broccoli, beets, spinach, bell peppers and other yummy home-grown food.”
- “I have ‘appetizers’ out while I’m preparing dinner. I put out cut up veggies, a bowl of cherry tomatoes, hummus and baby carrots, or cut up fruit (on toothpicks if I have the time) and the kids can graze while we talk about their day. It lets the kids make healthy choices and reduces the food struggles to get them to eat their dinners.”
- “Save the best for last! We put meat and veggies on the plate first for hungry kids to dig into. My picky eater won’t eat anything else once the mashed potatoes hit the plate.”
- “At mealtime, I have little metal bowls that I fill with dipping sauces and put them in the middle of the table for them to share. Whatever we are having, I always give them dipping sauces, such as ketchup, mustard or honey. As long as they can dip their food into one of these, they will eat anything. Sounds really simple, but works for my kids.”
- “Make ‘art structures’ out of food. It’s easy to get carrots and grape tomatoes and chicken down when they are created into silly faces, dogs, horses, or any favorite animal. Once they get past the first experience, throw in asparagus and more adventurous vegetables.”
- “I try to get my picky eater to eat healthy by telling her she has to eat a certain number of pieces of healthy fruit or vegetables. She tries to negotiate the number down, so we end up compromising with her…”
My kids love Tyson Chicken nuggets! I mean absolutely love them! With a little fat free ranch dressing on the side Tyson Chicken nuggets are sure to please!
I have 10 FREE chicken nugget coupons to give away!
Entering is easy peasy!
Struggling to get your little one to eat their veggies? How do you please even the pickiest of eaters? What’s your “nugget” of wisdom?
Please leave a comment and tell us YOUR wisdom!Disclaimer: Tyson Foods sponsored this review by providing me with the above stated product for my review.

Have you guys ever heard of Squirt Blurt before?
Either have I until recently…*Who we are:* Squirt Blurt was founded in 2010 by breeders and non-breeders alike who found that the candid observations of the little people in their lives left them in stitches more often then not. And the desire to share these antidotes with everyone they knew combined with their love of technology drove them to create SquirtBlurt.com.
*Why we did it:* Who hasn’t stifled fits of giggles after witnessing conversations that go something like this:
Matthew: Granpa, when were you born?
Grandpa: A long time ago Matthew.
Matthew: I know that because you look so old.
You think: I should really write this down. You try to retain it to memory hoping to relay the story later on. Sometimes successfully, some times not so much. That’s where we come in.
SquirtBlurt.com enables you to share the innocent, unfiltered and sometimes blunt observations of the world made by children. Producing joy and laughter for us adults (often our expense..) thus bringing brightness to our day.
*What we intend: *For this to be a family friendly site where anyone can come to share Junior’s gems and Little Maddy’s zingers. So come and create an account (it’s free!). Post your blurts, rate other blurts, interact and share with members, or just read and laugh. Because ultimately it’s all about the laughter.
After all we all know there is no one funnier then your own kid and what better way to communicate these side splitters to the world then here on Squirt Blurt.
I love the fact that you can add your childrens’ funniest sayings, (we all know how kids can crack you up!) but being able to share it is even better.
If you’re having a bad day you can simply go to Squirt Blurt and read up on some funny sayings, you can follow their tweets on Twitter and you can also find some funny stuff on Squirt Blurts Facebook page.Shea, Age 3 said:
“After calling breakfast, lunch… Me: Shea, what do we eat in the morning? Shea: Breakfast Me: What do we eat in the afternoon? Shea: Lunch Me: And what do we eat at night? Shea: Chinese food.”
You can add your own childs input on their funniest sayings, read through previous posts that people submitted. It’s all in great fun and will give you the giggles!
Why not check them out? It’s absolutely FREE to join and you can add your childs funniest sayings for everyone to read.

WHAT IT IS: The foundation of the “London Look.” This season, the London Look starts with a luminous complexion and look-at-me lashes. With new must-haves for fall, Rimmel London gives you the essentials you need to look London chic. The new additions to the Rimmel London collection include:
LASTING FINISH 25-HOUR FOUNDATION ($7.48)
Incorporating the latest technology, Lasting Finish 25-Hour Foundation provides extended wear, hydration and an impeccably natural flawless finish. Available in 11 shades, the lightweight foundation is enriched with an Energizing Mineral Complex and moisturizing Aqua Primer for an all-day fresh complexion. Thanks to its truly fatigue-proof, stress-proof formula, Lasting Finish delivers up to 25 hours of non-stop comfortable wear. Breakdown from sweat, heat and humidity is minimized, while skin feels energized and hydrated all day.

THE MAX VOLUME FLASH BOLD CURVES MASCARA
AND THE MAX VOLUME FLASH WATERPROOF MASCARA ($7.19 each)
Following the success of the lash-building, volume-boosting Max Volume Flash Mascara, Rimmel London introduces two new innovative Max Volume mascaras with unique benefits: The Max Volume Flash Bold Curves Mascara and The Max Volume Flash Waterproof Mascara. Both formulas are enriched with Collagen and Keratin to plump and strengthen lashes with every use. Each mascara also delivers 14X the volume, taking lashes from skinny to fat in ten seconds flat.

The Max Volume Bold Curves Mascara gives you your curviest lashes yet with Rimmel London’s biggest, most curvaceous brush ever. Lashes are dramatically lifted, separated and curled, and wrapped in maximum volume. The Max Volume Flash Waterproof Mascara delivers unprecedented levels of volume with a large, plush brush and Perfect-Fit Technology for fast, no-mess lashes.
