Yonanas Dessert Maker- Review

I don’t know about other moms but when I had a baby I went from being able to eat an entire box of Twinkies and not gain weight (I swear that only happened once and it was in college) to putting on a few pounds after consuming the slightest bit of indulgent food. Now that I’m older I find I feel very differently when I eat food that isn’t necessarily the best option. Fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean protein make me feel much more calm and energetic that pizza, subs and hot dogs do. For me it’s the processed foods that I try to keep out of the house. To lose a couple of unwanted pounds and to start feeling better I starting making smoothies more often. Especially being summer, the farmer’s market has so many good fruits and veggies I can’t hold back. My son and husband get into the fun as well and pick what’s going to go in theirs. I came across the Yonanas dessert maker and I instantly fell in love with the concept. We go out for ice cream a lot in the summer. It’s cold here in New York most of the year so we indulge while we can. By the end of the summer though, it’s time to get back to the gym and work off those extra calories.
Yonanas requires you to peel and freeze some bananas as well as any other fruit you want to include. Then you simply put everything into the dessert maker and it creates an ‘ice cream’ type dessert that is the consistency of soft serve. You can eat it in a dish or put it in a cone. It’s delicious and you would never guess you’re not eating dairy-based ice cream. This is also especially great for people who can’t eat dairy because of lactose intolerance or allergy issues. You can still enjoy a sweet treat without suffering afterwards.
With Yonanas not only are you indulging in a frozen treat but you’re also consuming all the wonderful vitamins and minerals that come from the fruits, veggies and nuts you’ll be using. A recipe book comes along with the maker to give you some fresh ideas. You can visit www.yonanas.com for more information or to order your own!
